Who you are agreeing with.
OpenSensor.io is owned and operated by OPENSENSOR ENGINEERING LLC, a limited liability company formed in the state of Maine. Where these terms say “we,” “us,” or “our,” they refer to OPENSENSOR ENGINEERING LLC.
By using the site, you agree.

What may change without notice.
OpenSensor.io reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the service (or any part of it) with or without notice. Where reasonable, we will publish announcements before material removals.
What free-tier users should expect.
The api.opensensor.io service is currently provided as a free tier. We strive to keep it reliable, but free-tier users should be aware of the following operating conditions and limitations.
Infrastructure & reliability
api.opensensor.io runs on DigitalOcean managed Kubernetes backed by MongoDB. The architecture is robust but, as with any service, outages can occur.
Data retention
Free-tier users should not expect more than six months of historical data to be retained. Export your data through the API on a schedule that matches how far back you need to look.
Export recommendation
We strongly encourage regular backups of sensor data via the API to your own storage or local archives. The API endpoints are documented and stable.
How money moves through the platform.
We are committed to maintaining strong standards of payment security and to compliance with industry regulations that protect financial information.
PCI DSS compliance
All payment flows are fully compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We use industry-leading processors so cardholder data is handled securely.
Secure processing
Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 service provider. Card information is tokenized and never stored on our servers.
Data protection in transit
Transactions are protected by TLS encryption and tokenization. We follow strict security protocols to safeguard financial data end-to-end.
Quotes are not commitments.
OpenSensor.io offers 3D-printing services for custom projects. Submitting a quote request does not guarantee acceptance of the job. We reserve the right to decline projects based on technical feasibility, material availability, design complexity, legal considerations, or other business factors. Quote requests are reviewed and answered within a reasonable timeframe.
Reach a real person.
Questions about the agreement, the API tier, or anything else covered above are read by the operator directly — no ticketing system.
